Madera County

Our work in Madera County, in partnership with community leaders and community-based organizations, focuses on the unincorporated communities of Fairmead and La Vina as well as neighborhoods within the City of Madera. Community based groups in Madera, including in La Vina and Fairmead have grown in strength and number to take on and reverse decades of divestment, neglect and policies and practices that put the health and well-being of neighborhoods at risk. We advocate for equitable land-use planning and policies, equitable transportation investments,, improvements to indoor and outdoor air quality, access to reliable drinking water and wastewater services, climate resilience investments, and effective and equitable groundwater protection.
