My name is _______ and I ask that the City of Bakersfield allocate $1 million dollars to fund an Eviction Prevention Pilot Program that will help tenants throughout Bakersfield stay housed. Throughout the City many tenants are facing illegal rental increases, habitability issues and evictions. Tenants need stronger protections against displacement.

We ask that the City allocate $1 million in this year’s budget for an Eviction Prevention Pilot Program and agendize this program for discussion on a potential increase of funding during the Mid-Year Budget.
