Letter to City of Tulare Re: Paige Ave. Industrial Project

Leadership Counsel sent a demand on behalf of Matheny Tract residents to the City of Tulare regarding the city’s approval for development of the Tulare Industrial Center — an over one million square ft. industrial complex that will significantly impact the already pollution-burdened community.

The City approved the project without notifying Matheny residents, as well as failing to enforce appropriate environmental mitigation measures. This places the community, which ranks among the highest in the state for air and groundwater pollution, at increased health and safety risks.

The letter outlines specific law and code violations resulting from the City’s actions and requests the City respond with how it will address each violation and prevent this from happening in the future.
